Being near natural water, farmland, and within a lower populous is a sensible investment in this time, and Andalusia in Southern Spain ticks many boxes, including the warm weather, relaxed rules, and a variety of amazing local food.
I know some good honest rural Spanish folk who don't speak English, but have great opportunities for sale.
I also know that it's not a legal requirement to have "an official agent" in Spain, which can add many fees - wherein most work only in the over-inflated luxury villa market.
